happy birthday, mom!

this post is dedicated to my mom. it is her birthday today, and i want to remind her that i just love her a lot. she is one of my very favorite people ever. thanks, mom, for always loving me for being me. i love you right back, and i hope that this birthday is an extra happy one. i can't wait to see you next week! happy birthday!

an unusual sighting

last week as i was getting ready to go to work, i kept hearing loud, sporadic bursts of air. when i looked out the window to see what was going on, this is what i saw. crazy! it's not everyday that a hot air balloon almost lands outside of your apartment complex! the picture doesn't really do it justice for how big and close it got due to the screened window, but it was pretty cool (or should i say hot?)

fall is my favorite season

provo has been so beautiful these last few weeks! the colors are so pretty, and the crisp air makes a light sweater all you really need. it has been confirmed that fall is my favorite season. here are some pictures of provo canyon i took while on a sunday drive with my roommies...

i heart football

welp, i am in the nitty gritty of fall semester, and it's getting pretty crazy. i take comfort in the fact that there is a football game every saturday for most of the semester. provo has been electrified since that oklahoma win a few weeks ago...

the cougs take on unlv on saturday to improve their 4-1 season record. woop. i can hardly wait. i really heart football. a lot.

welp, i realize that it has been a long time since my last post and lots of fun things have happened in the last month...summer term ended, river rafting down the american river with the entire fam, a quick trip to so cal, and a visit to provo from bryan to name a few.

she did it!

on july 25th, my bestest friend camille got married! she and russ looked so happy, and the day couldn't have been more beautiful. they make one great team! now they are off to texas, and i miss them already! here's a few photos from the happy day...

in 7 days...

so, my bestest friend camille gets married in 7 days. camille and i met freshmen year and have been friends ever since. we have had sad times and a lot more happy times, and i just love her to death.

i am so happy that she is so happy, but i sure am going to miss this girl! erin and i took her out to macaroni grill for one last girls lunch as a farewell. thank you, camillie mcquaws for being the bestest friend ever!

anyone down for some quittich?

tuesday night/wednesday morning i went with some ward friends to the midnight showing of harry potter 6. it was ah-mazing! we waited for a couple of hours outside the theatre playing cards, talking, and people watching. i was super tired the next day, but it was so worth it! harry potter 6 is a definite summer see!

Happy Father's Day, Dad!

happy father's day, dad!  so, i consider myself one lucky girl because i have the best dad ever!  on this father's day, i thought it would be appropriate to include some of the things that i have learned/heard from my father...

i laughed so hard i thought my pants would never dry...only 60 extra miles...you wanna ride bikes?...just a little poop in the brownies...gee, my clock says 12:00, but it sure feels like 11:00...don't leave any puddles...let me check to see if this is poison...

on a more serious note, my dad really is the greatest.  he has helped me to be the best person that i can be, and i just love him a lot.  happy father's day, dad!  i love you!!

summer is here!

welp, spring term officially ended today, and i am feeling really good about that.  summer term will start off right with new classes and a new job at the mtc.  i am excited!!

our long lost friend amanda paid us a visit to provo this weekend, and i am so happy that she did!  we had a delicious lunch at cafe rio, and it was so fun to catch up.  i miss this girl!

hare hare krishna!

my friend Helen and I made a trip to the Hare Krishna temple in Spanish Fork for our World Religions class, and it was a fascinating experience!  we attended their worship services and stayed afterwards for the love feast...yum.  here are a couple of shots of the temple and the view outside...

ok, so this post may be a few days old, but i'm posting it anyway.  i went to camille's graduation on thursday.  president uchtdorf, elder nelson, and elder christofferson were also there to offer their congratulations...

whiz kids reunited...almost.

today elyse, camille, and i went to zupa's for lunch, and it was delicious.  it's always good to be with good friends.  i have decided that it has been far too long since all of the whiz kids have been together (we missed you, amanda!)

heather and jen ran their first half marathon and totally rocked it...they did it in under two hours!  i am so proud!
